Hi all as stated above the dash lights, climate control light, stereo lights and hazard light have started flickering on and off. It doesnt affect the headlights or the symbols on the dash ie handbreak/headlight symbol. Ive seen past posts with people having the same problem but they don't say if or how they have fixed this. Ive looked for loose connections check battery terminal and cleaned wiring terminals in the light switch housing but the problem still with a happening... Help needed?

Sounds like it could be the dimmer control or the lighting amplifier (looks like a relay).

I can't recall my hazard light switch being backlit though..... (goes to check....)

skinnyb - did you ever figure this out? I have the same problem (interior lights on dash flickering but headlights, radio, etc. doing just fine). Same as you, I see people with this problem but no one ever explains how or if they solved it :(

Thanks langers2k! I will look into that. I actually have (don't laugh!) an old Skoda Octavia from 2004 so I think that's the MKI. Not sure if the guide will apply but go through it anyway. Thanks!

Thanks, langers2k. The guide is really interesting but I think my problem goes beyond the instrument cluster since the lights for the locks and power window controls on the doors (both sides) also flicker (or sometimes do not turn on at all) whereas other lights, like the headlights and interior ceiling lights work as normal. 

 

The only pattern I see here is that the lights that work as normal (the headlights and the interior ceiling lights) all have their own "switches" whereas the ones that are flickering are controlled by the me turning the key.

 

I hope that makes sense. Any clue from anyone is appreciated.
