Finned thing underneath Floor on Drivers Side??

Featured Replies

Just been having a mooch underneath my car today and there is a funny finned heatsink thingy under the floor on the drivers side, (digital camera not charged so couldn't take a pic)

Anyone have any idea what it's for?????

its to cool down the diesel in the return fuel line (so i was told), gets nice and warm after a long drive

It is indeed a fuel cooler.

Its the heat exchanger for the air conditioning.

If you trace the hoses you will find it is connected to the air con.

Fuel returns cooler gets my vote.

Where's the experts when we need them ? :)

It is a fuel cooler as correctly stated.

Has to remove heat from the fuel before returning back to the tank as its made of plastic and would deform.

The a/c does have a heat exchanger, its called a condensor and it sits infront of the cooling rad behind the front bumper.

Fined thing?? Perhaps its that great white shark you ran over the other day? ;)

I did wonder what that was. First impression when I got the car was its the intercooler  (I know its not)

I didn't wanna be rude and say 'search for it' Denis. But yes we have covered this before, very true.

I remembered looking up the price. ;)

Not all that expensive, but I would've been silly removing it still.
