vicegrips between hub and arm on underside of thread, jack this up so they really bite, then undo top nut

Thanks STS, didn't check on here before I went out again this morning. What I did in the end was, take the pivot pin out of the balljoint splitter and use the half that goes around the ball as a hammer splitter instead. Not the correct use of that particular hand tool but.... and you know what i'm going to say...... one good hard hit and it was split( that's poetry).
