Met up with SteelGoon last week to enable the columbus directions in his Maxidot.

He had already had the Columbus unit retrofitted and coded to work and just needed the Maxidot display enabling.

Ran a scan before any coding as always throwing the faults below:-

End ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Left the codes in-situ - did not clear them down and proceeded to look into enabling the maxidot display.

In through main screen

LJ61BBV1.jpg

Into Can Gateway

LJ61BBV1a.jpg

Into Coding

LJ61BBV2.jpg

thought it a bit strange that the 'long code' was not that long ??

Long coding helper

LJ61BBV3.jpg

Only 3 BYTES displayed and a message in red at the bottom. I'm sure there should have been more bytes in here with the usual 'tick boxes' meaning that the coding could be altered to enable the maxidot to display directions from Columbus.

Any suggestions? My limites knowledge suggests a faulty or incorrect CAN gateway??

To enable the Columbus in the Maxidot don't you just tick the box for BAP protocol in either the Radio or Navigation sections. :S

From memory (didn't screen dump) I couldn't access those control modules. I had read that the above was what needed doing. SteelGoon is local so will have another go soon enough.

37 or 56 in your list above.

The reason your CAN gateway coding is so short is that most of it has been shifted to Cent Elec.

You're not using some cheap-assed cloned cable are you? :giggle:

long coding is short because you now use the Installation list in the CAN gateway.

To the OP

untick Microphone from the installation list in the gateway as you don't have that type. Faults in the telephone module can be coded out
