heaters and heated seat query

Featured Replies

Now the cold weather is here (sort of) I was wondering about the heaters in the citigo

Kind of strange that such a small car for the price has heated seats and got me thinking are the heaters not brilliant with only two vents on them that the need for heated seats is required

Atm I have an Octavia from Skoda as my car is delayed and its the se connect model that does not have heated seats

The heaters can heat up the car pretty effectively in my experience. Heated seats are nice but you don't need them.

Can answer that question for you. My wife sat in the rear of our Citigo last night as my son was occupying the front seat and she said it's very warm in the back can you turn the heater down. I only had it turned to about the 2 o'clock position. The heated seats I've not felt the need to use yet. Usually I end up turning the heater down once it's done a quick warm up, it is very good.

This car has been designed to heat up as quickly as possible. Out of all the cars I have had I have never had on heat up as quickly as the Citigo. It reaches 90 degrees in about 1 mile - that is seriously quick - that is one of the reasons why it is so economical and the heater in the morning is brilliant. The heated seats are the icing on the cake. The car certainly doesn't need them but they are nice to have.

I've had my citigo for a week now, and the heated seats are certainly an added bonus. Like Crista, I find the citigo warms up really quickly, but it is great also having the heated seats on, especially now the weather is turning, certainly adds luxury. The citigo is an absolute pleasure to drive.

Thanks for the answers

Should be getting new year hopefully

Hope you get the enjoyment Malcster that I am getting. I've had about 80 cars over the last 40 yeas - some of them very expensive, yet I seem to be getting more enjoyment out of the Citigo than any other car for a long time. It's just a delight to drive and does what it's supposd to do. My wife tends not to drive my cars at all but this one she loves and she has a Yeti (which she also loves). I look for excuses to nip out to the shops as it is just so cheap to run. The lowest mpg I am getting is 50-55 and that is in stop start traffic around town. Best so far is high 60's out of town.

Another "thumbs up" for the heater and heated seats - in no time at all the car is lovely and warm on a cold day!

I find that the front window takes a whIle to clear

Air con on sorts it in no time at all, infact all the windows can clear pretty quickly.

Cheers for that,

I know in the manual it says about the ideal settings for different situations

Also I don't know if anyone else has the same but when it is cold and the screen needs to be cleared I can see the imprint of some stickers from the factory

I have the same, it's probably from the suction cups they use to place the windshield. I haven't tried yet but assume it should be quite easy to remove.

Yeah, it's quite common, i used to get this on my old Fabia Vrs.

Are the heated seats squab and backrest? Only asking as the owners manual refers to some types being squab only.

Chris

I find the heating is better than my Octavia was. Never had it on full temp setting yet.

Does the backrest heat up or just the base?

Does the backrest heat up or just the base?

On my Elegance the base and the backrest heat up, I put them on when its cold as they heat up really quickly and it helps to keep things comfy until the heater kicks in.

My heater is really good, full to start with then turn it down half way and that is bang on.

I have not had a problem with misting, I have the system set for through flow ventilation, and always have the blower on 1 or 2, no need for the air con.

Many thanks, Elegance spec is the one I am looking at. Small aluminium engine and meagre coolant capacity should ensure a very quick warm up.

Chris

When I got my car I was of the opinion why would they put heated seats in but no second window switch, boot light, lined arches etc etc.  However, I do suffer from occasional lower back pain when sitting and I must admit the lumbar region heats up in the absolute perfect spot to ease any discomfort.  Instead of an unecessary extra I now see my heated seats as a definite plus!

I'm with Allicia8 on the back pain issue. The heated seats give me some relief.
