Stupid question, where is it!!! :/

Behind the glovebox. Get into the footwell, head first and upside down and look up. You will see a rectangular plastic slide with bevelled edges (working from memory here). Slide it across and pull out the long rectangle its holding in place (the filter housing).

If its anything like my other half's, you will be greeted by a shower of leaves and something that looks like Trev's.

any chance you could put up a pic for the not so mechanically minded here

Honestly bud, theres nothing else down there haha

Passenger footwell, further right towards the dash, like a sliding clip holding it in.

According to Honest John if it isn't faulty door seals, then another cause of condensation is cracked plastic dpm inside the doors. Anyone found this?

Mk 1's dont have a plastic membrane it is a pressed aluminium sheet - if the door seals aren't the problem then the likely issue is a poor fitted or choked pollen filter - it could be residual damp from an earlier door card problem - try putting an electrical heater in the car for a couple of hours with a window cracked open - then use a packet type dehumidifier from Tesco/Ebay etc etc - be patient if you can !!

Cat litter in a tub is also really good for absorbing condensation and excess moisture. I used to use it in my old flat that had a bathroom with no window and very poor ventilation.

The tub would have an inch of water in the bottom every month. Bonus is it doesn't smell and doesn't end up getting into the air like salt does.

Thanks for all the posts- I replaced the pollen filter a little while before Christmas and also sealed the rear door carriers! This seems to have stopped the problem for now :)

This is starting to **** me off. Every morning 20 mins to clear the front screen ffs

My (just recently traded in for a Roomster) Mk 1 Fabia hatch 1.4tdi 04 plate suffered BIG TIME from this condensation on inside of glass problem.

Diagnosis from my local 1-man-operator garageman is dried and shrunken door seals.

SOLUTION is wipe veg oil onto all five door seals.

I did this several times a week for several weeks, using olive oil, an ex-hummus lidded tub containing a circle of foam sponge to trap most of the oil, and a smaller chunk of sponge to apply the stuff, it worked!  The oil gradually makes the seals expand back to approx original size. Give it a go! Was a tight squeeze oiling the bottom lip of the rear hatch seal where it abuts the bumper, but persevere and you'll get results. And car interior has intriguing smell.  Didn't notice any bother with oil coming off onto clothes, as long as you just wipe over lightly with oil each time, don't flood!

Richard

I bought 3 of these little condensation bags today apparently they are quite good. Said 1 would suit so I put 3 of them in the car.

1 on rear seat, 1 on the parcel shelf and 1 on the dash board. The morning will tell me.

Will soon be in my routine of waking up, starting the car and then getting ready for work for 45 mins!

Anyone elses windscreen frozen on the inside this morning.

I had to scrape the inside of my cars windscreen.

Mine wasn't too bad this morning but I didn't go out in it until 10 so the sun had been beaming on it. Has a new pollen filter cured anyone's yet? Need to go and check mine but it looks too cold out lol
