Roomster Scout 16" Alloys. Part number or source?

Featured Replies

I want to get an identical set of alloys for my new roomy, it makes the insurance so much more straightforward when I want to fit winters.

However, I can't find any new or used anywhere. Anyone know the part number or a place that sells them other than the dealers? Just trying to save a little on them if I can.

Hens teeth mate. Even more so the 17's :(

I do however have a set of 16" rims for sale that'd be ideal for you winters. Mucho cheaper than a new set and they'll bolt straight on

Thanks for pointing me to those, but I want to keep the same ones so there's no possibility of arguments from insurance.

There seems to be an obsession with winter tyres now. No one ever seemed to change them until the last couple of years. Is it just a con to make us spend more money ???

No they are remarkably good. OK it's only below 7 degrees that you really notice them, but having run last winter on winter tyres, and experienced the differnce on a 600BHP plus car, I'm sold. Your choice of course, but I'm doing it from experience, not hype.

Ok then take a look here. Many possibilities to find what you are looking for. The bad thing is that they post only in Czech Republic.

Amazing that they're £50 cheaper PER ALLOY over there.

Loving those black Comet alloys, wish there were similar ones here in 15".

Maybe I could get mine powder coated in matt black when time comes to refurb them?

But they don't list the Scout ones anyway (well not the 16" Scout). I asked the dealer. £640 for a set. Add the tyres, and it'd be cheaper to get a taxi on bad days! Even list price for the Themistos on my Superb are less than that, and I managed to get a set slightly used for a good price.

Lowedb - My idea of a bad day would mean no Taxi would be venturing out.

I think for me, i will not buy Winter tyres as i think they are not cost effective. The best thing to do is drive carefully leaving plenty of space to the driver in front. I drive appox 20'000. miles per year. The only acident i had was when some one was coming straight at me on black ice, i had to go on to the grass verge so the other driver would not hit me. I think in that situation Winter tyres would not make any difference to grip on Black Ice.

It's surprising I know, but winters do make a differnce on black ice. I've been driven on a frozen lake with them, and also seen a demonstration on an ice rink.
