I've just been looking through the brochure.

Is it me or do the cost of the optional extras seem rather expensive?

Summer pack (Cimate control over air-con + dark rear glass) = £500.

All standard on an Elegance Fabia, but cimate update is only £280 on SE.

Rear parking sensors (x3) = £350.

Only £285 on the Fabia and you get 4.

Extended 2 year extra waranty = £480.

Only £295 on a Fabia with the same engine!

Bear in mind you also get the VAT off the Fabia options, so they are even cheaper.

The options on the Rapid look very aggressively priced, like they are encouranging people to buy standard cars.

No wonder the demo specced up SEs in the showrooms look crazy at £20k+. !!!

Just had a look on Skoda Germany, they want € 990 for the Amundsen sat-nav, which equates to ~£800. Skoda UK want £550, so we aren't doing too bad!

Don't forget that the Fabia is coming towards the end of its life, where as this is a brand new model.

I'd expect discounts to start soon, but no manufacturer would release a new car and immediately offer discounts on list price.

Had thought about a Rapid but suspecting prices might be higher than anticipated, went for the VAT free fabia Monte instead; much better value as it turned out.

Amudsen navi costs about 600 euros. I was just wondering, does the streaming from phone to car radio work with it as it does in elegance-superb....?

If I got it right, in germany that amudsen includes DAB. Here in Finland the price is around 600.....with tax.
