Fiat 500 abarth dissapointment

Featured Replies

Loads of people ranting and raving about these being really quick etc

Just had a play with one earlier and left it standing not impressed at all for the money very over priced and overrated

Er, there are several different tunes for the 500 Abarth (the fastest being grey with red stripes :giggle: ), and you're presuming that he could actually be bothered trying.

Yeah trust me he was trying I know the diffrence not impressed

Fiat garbage

You need to get the Essesse model with 160bhp, easily tuned to 180 plus with a remap, my brother has one and its incredible to drive.

Oh, Ken beat me to it!

+1 theres one in my street and with the fancy exhausts that come with the SS pack it sounds fantastic

A mates brother also had one......till i past it upside down at the side of the motorway one morning, shame as it looked great in the gunmetal and black

You should my brothers one, at full chap you can hear the turbo whistle through the exhaust. Kawasaki green vinyl and wheels, carbon bonnet etc.

Yeah, clearly you know him well. I mean, you apparently don't know which tune it's in, to the extent that I'm not clear that you were aware that there was more than one.

how old is it? wasn't the older regular abarth about 130bhp? how quick did you expect it to be in a straight line??

Fiat garbage

Oy!

The description in post #8 sounded horendous but it looks lovely. Nothing wrong with a brightly coloured hot hatch.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Either he wasn't fully trying or it was the lower tuned version.

I have had experience of both the hot and the warm version.

The warm version going down a slip road and I left him behind.

The hot version they left me behind! A lot! lol

Thread cleaned up.

Let's keep to the topic

I`m guessing you had a go in it then, free track and that, what was it like?

FIAT...Fix It Again Tomorrow...

I've got one so I can say it.

Surely it's a combinbation of being reasonably quick plus all the sensory stuff that goes with a car like the Abarth? Just being quicker in a straight line is missing the point really.

I had one of the best drives ever today in my little 106 from Ravenscar to Cloughton along the coast road (near Whitby/Scarborough). I may have been quicker on the straight bits with the remapped Octavia, but I never grinned as much as I did today in the Rallye. I got a bit bored of straight line speed to be honest as it was all a bit two dimensional. Now every corner is an adventure and if I overtake someone it's an achievement, not a formalitiy. :D

I'm sure many people have won a race when they're the only one aware they're racing.

It's also amazing how a fabia vRS can destroy a car, no matter what.

I got "beaten" by one while test driving a 335d. I wasn't trying as I was in top gear and trying to get comfortable.

Does that mean a 335d is rubbish and slow?

Need you even ask? ;)

My car is faster than a ferarri!!!!!!! If a ferarri is doing 70mph i could easily pass him doing 75mph, must be my remap

Anyone remember the phrase 'I took him like a King'?

Ahh, memories of Mil and his mighty Mustang slaying Fabia. :)

I also hear that a Fabia can beat an M3......
