SEAT Dynamic Navigation System - Same as Skoda DX/MFD1

Featured Replies

I have a SEAT Dynamic Navigation System for sale – Double DIN size. It’s the same (albeit SEAT) unit – DX MFD1 – as fitted to my Superb Mk1.

The reason I bought this is because I thought the screen was fading on my one in the Superb. Turns out I’m a numpty and the screen brightness is automatic and linked to the rheostat for the dash lights. In low light it gets darker and in bright sun it gets lighter. Didn’t know it did this so I bought a SEAT unit with the intention of swapping displays. I didn’t need to so this is up for sale.

It needs a GPS antenna and disc (easily found on Ebay)

It will fit in a double DIN slot and to the best of my knowledge will work with the MFD and steering wheel controls in a Superb (and maybe Octy), however, I can’t be 100% about this as the radio is code locked. You will need to send it off to have it decoded (services can be found on ebay and the internet). For your information, I took it (installed in my car) to the local Skoda dealership who were asked to unlock the radio. They were unable to as the Skoda system doesn’t talk to the SEAT system. I ‘phoned SEAT and they told me they couldn’t do it as they needed the chassis number of the car it came from L. Local dealers won’t be able to unlock this (unless you happen to have a mate with a SEAT and double DIN slot that can take it to SEAT and have it decoded) – it will need to be sent off. I have neither the time nor the inclination to do so (whatever I spend on it I’m unlikely to recoup), but I’m more than happy to point the purchaser in the right direction.

I’m after £100 delivered including fees.

Any questions just let me know.

It's tempting... would slot straight into mine.

Are you sure you don't need to provide proof of original ownership to have it decoded by a Seat dealer?

I have been told that if it is fitted to a SEAT and recoded in situ it should be fine. I'll do it to a forum member on sale or return (you'd have to pay to buy it first but I'd keep the money aside in case of an issue). That's probably the best I can do. I'm an honourable person, as people who have dealt with me on here will testify. If you want to buy it, I'll send it to you. See if it recodes at a SEAT dealership - if it does, all well and good. If not, send the unit back to me and I refund the money. Alternatively, dndservices.co.uk do a recode service for 50 quid.

Simon.

70 all in ?

£100 all in. Sorry, no movement in price.

I'm tempted its hat the code etc and how do I know if its bricked etc ??

As above - sale or return. I'm sure it isn't bricked but you'd need to send it off to the above company to have it unlocked (or I can send it direct if you pay for it).

You can either but a classified pass if you only want to sell, or the freedom if you want to contribute more to the running of the site.
