Which wheels fit?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a Superb but my lil bro has a Fabia, which he's asked me to source winters for. He has a Monte Carlo with 205/40 R17 84W Dunlops...one alternative is to buy 17 tyres which I've found but really I'd prefer to get a new set either 16" or 15" steelies or alloys with tyres. Please could you advise on the wheel size I need? I.e. ET number, wheel spacing etc and tyres for 15" and 16" steelies. I can find prices etc, really I'm just after the sizes.

Also, are Fabia alloys 6.0J? or 6.5J? And would 7.0J or 7.5J fit? The reason I ask is I have a set of 17" team dynamics off my exOctavia with winter tyres 225/45 R17...the tyres are too big, I know, but perhaps the alloys will fit?

Thanks

Standards are 7 but 7.5 will fit as I have them on mine with 225 45 Tyres.

I've got 15" steels for my winters. Not a Monte but would think that the Monte calipers are no bigger than the vRS's.

15inch by 6

43mm offset

195 55 15 tyres

16 by 6.5

42m offset iirc

205 45 16 tyres

edit: will hardly make much difference if you go smaller offset. like 38mm

golf mark 4, mark 1 Audi A3, octavia mark1, beetle, ibiza, polo wheels, etc. with 5x100 pcd will fit.

Octavia II hubs are 112 pcd

Fabia and Octavia I hubs 100 pcd

So would 205/45/16 tyres fit onto 16x6.5 steel wheels?

And would 16 x 6.5 steel wheels fit onto a Fabia VRS?

The thing is I have a set of nearly new winter tyres which I'd rather keep using through the winter months. Would be cool to find a set of steels, spray them white and get a second set of winter wheels!

The correct tyres for the Fabia vRS II are 205 40 17

Fabia vRS I are 205 45 16

But either are suitable for both and will fit just fine.

The correct tyres for the Fabia vRS II are 205 40 17

Fabia vRS I are 205 45 16

Yes, so there's only 5mm difference in rolling radius.

So if I can find some cheap 16" steels that fit over the VRS calipers etc I can use my Mk1 Fabia winter tyres on it.

Correctamundo!!

Yes, so there's only 5mm difference in rolling radius.

How did you work that out?

That says 5mm difference in diameter doesn't it?

Ah yes, my mistake. Less than a 1% difference though.

That's cool, wasn't being picky just wondered if you had found a calc that could work it out lol
