Roomster scout 2007 handbook. Anyone check something for me please?

Featured Replies

I'm buying a 57 plate (October) roomy scout. If anyone has one or just a hndbook, could you check for me what size wheel and tyre they reccomend for winters please? I don't pick up the car for over a week and so far my research is proving fruitless. I had wanted to get the same alloys as already fitted, but they are rocking horse doo doo, or silly money via a dealer. So what size steels are specced, so I don't have insurance aggro?

To keep it simple, I will be buying OEM, approved in the handbook fit wheels. I have seen alternative roomster OE alloys cheaper, but maybe steels would be best if they are what the book says.

FWIW the steel spare in the boot of my 2008 roomy is a 16x6.5j with a 205/45/16 tyre fitted. This is with 17" wheels fitted from the factory.

Curiouser and Curiouser. I thought mine had 16" alloys, but being an October 2007 car I assumed it was a 2008 MY. It certainly does have a 16" steel spare, though not sure what size. I guess I'll just have to wait until next Saturday to be sure......

My September 2009 Scout has the standard 16" wheels. Tyres are 205/45 R16 87W.

I'm afraid the Owner's Handbook is not very helpful in respect of winter tyres.

Jonny5Ive's Scout has the optional 17" wheels.

OK, thanks guys. I didn't realsie the difference was an option thing, I thought it went date wise. So I can be fairly sure mine has the 16" standards too, as I'm sure I looked and thought 16"s.

I can investigate my options now, but won't purchase until I've double checked the actual car.

Look at my post in the tech section which tells you what the numbers/letters mean on the tyres side wall and the sizes that are standard from the factory.

Ta. I understand the meaning of the numbers on the tyres, but the car is an hour and a half away. The info on the standard / option will be useful, thanks.
