The First Year

Featured Replies

Hello everybody, it is quite sometime since I posted anything on the forum so I thought I would make my presence known once again. My Yeti elegance 140 DSG Diesel goes in for its first service next Tuesday after a first year of trouble/hassle free motoring. The car has been an absolute pleasure to live with  . At first I have to say that I was a little concerned that I may have trouble with the DPF filter as where I live here in Guernsey in the Channel Islands no where is very far (My commute to work every day takes 10 minutes and covers approx. 3 miles). With a lot of stop/start style of driving I was concerned the old DPF light would be on. Well (And I currently have my fingers crossed very tightly)this has not happened once in the first year, On a few occasions after I have either arrived at work or back home the old fan will be running doing its job. The car has now covered approx. 4,900 miles. Having contacted my dealer to arrange the first service he has informed me that the cost should be in the region of £130.00. I will report back once the service has been carried out. That is it for now, happy motoring! Jez

Good to hear Jez and think both of ours were shipped within a few days of each other. Yorkie just had his first service/check/oil change after just over 9000 trouble free miles cost £115.Been aware of fan on only twice during this time with regeneration smell but wonder if your fan has been on after a short jorney it may well be regenerating?

Great cars and a joy to drive and own up until now! Hope I am not tempting providence.

Cheers

Peter.

Delighted to hear that your 140 DSG is at home in Guernsey. We visited the island in Spring 2011 and fell in love with it. Another visit would be very good (Condor permitting!) but our own 140 DSG Yeti has replaced the X-Trail in the meanwhile and I had worried about the DPF factor. Now it seems that I don't have to!

Hi everyone, well I said I would report back after the Snow Monsters first service. Well, I am pleased to advise that she has been given a completely clean bill of health. The cost for this first service....................£139.00. I have been well chuffed with my first year of living with my Yeti and I now look forward to visiting my dealer again.................in 12 months time!!!!!!!!

I've had my 140Tdi manual 4x4 since May 2010 and it has been totally trouble free. Just had to go in for paintwork and door foils since it was one of the early ones, and new badges of course all done under warranty.Popped in to my dealers mid Sept to see what sort of deal they would do on a new one and was offered such a good p/x did a deal for another- 140 Tdi 4x4 SE with off road and hill hold. Didn't go for an Elegance since my lifestyle doesnt really justify all the bells and whistles. Anyhow was hoping this one would see me through the winter having heard about all these long delivery times but Oh blast!! the new one is now in and awaiting collection this weekend waiting time just over 8 weeks.
