If I change the air filter to the K&N on a diesel engine, will it give the engine the deep purr similar to the type you would get on a petrol model?

(Just spent the whole night reading up on dump valves here - jeeezo!)

Depends if its a panel or open induction kit, Panel No

I had a pipercross induction kit, my god it sounded turd, No roar just a loud bass type sound and a big drop in power

Panel filter makes no difference to sound... Don't know if it was a placebo effect but mine seemed a bit more responsive when coupled with a PD160 intake.

I went back to a standard panel filter from a K+N, if you want a good sound go for a Piper de-cat and system.
