engine mount failure

Just read in Car Mechanics magazine of an engine mount failure on a 09 Octavia TDi and from the picture it looks as though the bolts have sheered off ! anybody know of any other instances ? cheers - Stuart

I think they're supposed to be tighten-once-only stretch bolts. Did someone reuse them perhaps?

Hi All, I know this is a topic that seems to have been covered a million times but my vRS has become a problem child. It was losing a small amount of coolant and I would get the odd whisp of steam from the back, I diagnosed a leaking EGR Cooler (confirmed with off car pressure test) and a small water pump leak. I replaced both and thought my work here was done. However it now seems to have made losses worse, this time from the reservoir, so yesterday I did a 90 min motorway drive and by the t

Hi everyone So my mk3 Tour de France has had its Haldex eat itself - I’m struggling to locate a replacement. If I go for an updated part number or superseded version - how new can I go before it won’t work or will any newer versions work. My initial research says any Will work you just do A Haldex relearn but I’m skeptical with all the ai derived horseapples on the internet now. For reference I have a gen 5 Haldex with the OCQ 907 554d could I use a 907 554j for example? Thanks legends

Hi. I've just had the touchscreen replaced and happy to say everything is all working again with the exception of the clock which is stuck at 12:00. The second hand is still working though. The time on the dashboard behind the steering wheel is working fine and can be adjusted. Can anyone please advise me ho to adjust the clock on the touchscreen when it is in standby mode? Many thanks.

Hello folks. Been very pleased with my VRS for 18 months but now has illuminated abs warning light and tyre pressure warning. Scan reveals no signal from either rear wheel. I wrongly thought there would be a joint to a common cable somewhere at the rear or under the rear seat, it's looking like the abs signal travels up each side of the car. Is there a joint somewhere else at the front? I don't mean to ask any stupid questions but I have a balance issue that makes lying down to work at somethin
