I cant find that member on here

I would say get a good FMIC if you are going to the bother. These are a halfway house and build quality or performance is a bit of a grey area?

i believe its because the smic is easier to fit then the fmic of the turborevs as the one you linked is more fiddly but if you have the time and patience and of course mechanically minded you can fit them but otherwise i don't know a lot about them

My brother has fitted one of these to his Octy TDi, he needed a couple of extra hoses, but the MAF sensor went straight in.

I know these are popular with Golf owners and are good for 200bhp or so, which is really good for the price

Looks a bit on the small side if you ask me. Can't see it being much if any of an improvement over the standard smic. I wouldn't waste money on that, if you gonna do it then at least fit one you'll benefit from.

It's what three times the size of the standard one and positioned with more direct airflow so I'd say its well capable. Not to 400bhp but still a fair improvement.

Fitting a massive cooler just for the sake of it will only increase lag

I fitted 1 of these to my bro's mk4 golf 1.8t and wos a bugger to fit. Had to chop loads of bumper and bumper bar. Also had to modify the pipes they give u to make the intercooler fit. Wos good for the money at a fraction of the cost of a big name 1.

I'll be going for a stage 2 remap next year

I had to drill out the hole on their smic I had a few months back . Iirc it came with a 14mm hole but on the listing it stated it may need enlarging to 19mm depending on the car/sensor .
