Fabia TDI VRS vs Polo (mk4) TDI 130. Are differences only cosmetic ?

Featured Replies

Are the differences between these two cars only cosmetic ?

What do people think of the Polo 130 compared to the Fabia 130 VRS ?

I would love the Polo, I very nearly bought one with every factory extra you could imagine... Turned out the company selling it was a scrapyard :-/

They're super rare etc but exactly the same as the Fabia afaik.

They are near enough identical except the polo has a garrett 130 turbo as standard (much more robust compared to kkk).. also the BLT engine came in the polos alot earlier around 2003/2004..

Ive got the Polo Sport 130.. I think one of the main differences for me was that you could get it in a 3 door! Always preferred 3 over 5, even tho it can be a pain sometimes. It also supposed to be a bit heavier than the VRS i believe (heavier than a MK4 Golf somehow?)

More of a sleeper, something i like alot! Cant tell the difference between the 130 and a normal 1.2 which i often find very amusing!

Pretty rare for sure, there was only 3 for sale when i got mine! Few more about now i think. Oh it also doesnt have traction control as standard, well mine doesnt anyway..

I have a polo 130, which I love. It's a great car and fits what I use it for so well. I also have it in 3 door which is what attracted me to it over the fabia vrs. Also, I think that the interior is of better quality and nicer looking in the polo! Heres a picture of mine anyway  Ive done a few things to it as you'll see!photo2.jpg

They do seem nice, are they called polo gt?

Only ones i can see on ebay.

i love this shape and i'd have one,

but the earlier shape IMO looks toss. then again i love the 3door option. but yeh. they look nothing compared to the vrs IMO!

No - the 9n3 130 was just called a polo sport 130, not like the 9n which was given the gt name. You'll be lucky to find one though, VW only made them during 2006 and there was just over 200 produced!

i was looking for one when i was buying my Fabia, hard to find and hold their value very well. One day i'll own a Polo though...

So does that mean that mine has the garrett turbo? Thought that it'd have the kkk unit.

There is a: 2006 (06) VOLKSWAGEN POLO 1.9 TDI 130 SPORT Diesel 5dr on ebay at the moment. With 62'000. miles on the clock.

In Midnight Blue Metallic. "Looks" very good condition.

Thats good to know, what with all the stories about the kkk turbo! :)

Looks okay.. Think it's pretty pricy though. I paid £5000 for mine and it has the winter pack (heated seats & headlight washers) and the optional wheels. I have then fitted the votex side skirts, rear splitter, front polo bluemotion splitter & polo gti headlights. I just wanted to make it stand out a little from the standard 1.2 polos!

I was looking into these too before the fab. Was only 2 being sold and they had the horrid twin headlights. Would have loved one like the silver car above

Yes, i much prefer the 2006 version, but would want 5 doors as i have two kids. I am not one of those parents who insist that as they have two kids, they MUST have a people carrier !!!

I was also looking at the polo before I got my fabia but all I could find was the 100bhp ones. Did see one that looked nice with the votex kit on it but was sold by the time I phoned up. This did mean that I ended up with my fabia
