I've had a creaking sound coming from the front left corner for a while now. It's most prominent when I start accelerating (forward motion) or when I come to a stop (backward motion). Anyone have any idea what it could be?

Probably the console bushes, if you search it you'll come up with a stack of other threads.

+1 console bushes. Go to the offending corner and kick the front of the wheel towards back of car, and you should here it a bit

Thanks. Makes sense actually as I remember one of the console bushes was pulled up as a MOT advisory a while back. Must have got worse recently.

I'm thinking I might upgrade all the bushes (this gives me an excuse!). After a search here, I've found that Powerflex are a popular brand. Would you recommend them? Anyone know of anywhere I can get a good deal on Powerflex bushes?

ebay was the best price I found for them. If you are doing them it's probably worth doing the dogbone bush at the same time as they seem to give up about the same time. Powerflex ones are by far the easiest to fit if you are doing it yourself. remember to get replacement bolts and have a little plumbers blowtorch to hand to put some heat on any seized bolts. Be a good idea yo blast everything you need to remove with penetrating spray a few days before.

Cool thanks. I'll probably be getting them done at a garage as I would have no idea where to start! Not got much of a clue about suspension but getting there slowly but surely lol!
