Eibach Pro Kit springs & Pro Damper, er, dampers.

Was only planning to fit the springs a while back but never got round to it.

Luckily, Jabbasport had the dampers for a bargain price @ GTI International.

Should have some free time (and a break from decorating! ) on Saturday. Expect some extensive testing on Sunday! ;)

Hmmm! Shiny

mmmm very nice..

mine looked like that once... until i got bored of them :o

Nice.

They should improve things a bit.

You'll have to let us know how you get on.

Is this a "How to: Fit Eibach Dampers" opportunity?

@aixlad - hope so :D

Possibly, if everthing goes according to plan.

I user guide would be great. Would like to know how to get the dampers ou of the hub. That way I could do it myself.

I've tried fitting hammers but I didn't like the handling! :D

Hammers were cheaper than dampers and they firmed up the rid nicely, although I get this funny banging noise when hammering it round corners

Can i be cheeky and ask how much you paid and how much the drop (if any) will be?

Cheers

Alex

P.s. Is this something insurance companys usually grumble about???

The Eibach site lists it as a 25mm drop. Looking forward to see how you like them. I may get some myself.

Very nice suspension. I ran the same setup for 12 months and loved them. The coilovers I have now though, are just that bit better still. ;)

Could you also PM me the price which you got the kit for, thanks

eatsoot04 & Hellfire - you have PMs, guys.

They rub their hands with glee don't they? ;) My suspension mods were treated as cosmetic by Tesco and put my last year's premium up in the region of 60 quid I think (springs, dampers and strut braces). :D

Well, the springs & dampers are on!

It took ALL day yesterday (11am - 8pm!!) to fit them with one or two snags. Only driven for 20 mins last night but it feels fantastic!! Reminds me of my Mk2 Golf when I had uprated springs & dampers fitted.

Much reduced roll thro' corners, the ride is slighly stiffer but not overly harsh. I need to drive it more to get a better idea of how much improvement it has made. Saying that though, there's a favourite roundabout of mine which was taken at significantly higher speed last night & there was no understeer & I could power out of it much better! ;)

I will be writing up a "How To" later for those who want to tackle this mod for themselves.

Those front struts are a pain in the a55 to get out, eh?

OH YES! Hammer Time, big time!!

And I learnt that you need to slacken off the strut top nut BERFORE you take the whole strut off the car! They are well tight.
