Indicator lens cracked/missing MOT failure?

Featured Replies

As above really.

The lens has fallen off one completely and the other has a fine crack.

Thinking about it a crack can't be a fail as I previously glued the missing one back together and back on.

I think what matters most is that it still shows amber, but to be on the safe side grab some repair tape from halfrauds or similar and cover it up

http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_140.htm Failure on 2B, missing lens I think. Give it a day or so and an MOT tester will probably pass by and say for sure either way.

I'm a tester and my interpretation of the manual is if its fitted securely, shows correct colour and no sharp edges then no reason to fail. Same as foglights, broken lens fail. No lens pass

I'd have interpreted it as a fail because, even though the lens itself is clear (post facelift cars anyway), it's also a diffuser, and if a diffuser is missing that should be a fail since it adversely affects the cone that the light is visible over.
