Fabia Monte Carlo rallyflap kit update

Featured Replies

Did you by any chance take any pictures of the whole car with the red flaps on? I'm actually starting to think they might look okay in a bright colour with the white/black...

  • Hmm, without being the bad guy. Can I ask why you like these, I can't see the aesthetic benefits at all?!

Would they also fit a VRS?

The manufacturer/supplier is looking at a kit to fit both.

Sadly not I just focused on the wheel areas

Whose making them? Is it these guys?

That's my old Mk2 Octy vRS in the pics with blue flaps fitted :)

Yes, been very helpful thus far in trying to get a working solution for the Monte.

I want these, but have a hard time to decide if I want them green or black...

hi every body awaiting news off rallymudflaps without reading a post on here i was browsing the net as you do and found a company for mudflaps so i contacted them this afternoon and its the one the plumber & yorkshire pudding are in contact with and the news today looks promising they are nearly there but were having trouble finding fixings on the flaps and the montes wheel arches as they said in their words its a bit floppy he went on to say that as a realative small company trying to manufacture a new item (which has to be spot on ) and carry out their normal buisness has been difficult but they are oh so close they added that the interest created by monte owners was great lets hope so in sales while im on lets all congratulate the sterling work/ efforts of the plumber & yorkshire pudding not fogetting the company manufacturing them performance creations thanks again ps i want black ones

Good post .. Yes we'll done lads for getting this going well done , ( I want black ones to ) .

Any news on this?

The supplier has been in touch today, their sending me one more trial kit, as they've had to modify/introduce a couple of brackets in response to my initial findings with the first trial kit. So once I receive this and hopefully confirm it's OK, they will be able to start manufacturing production Kaylan rally-flap kits to order.

Thanks for the update... ????????

Any news yet.Have they arrived and do they look and fit o.k.

Have been working with the second trial fit this weekend; one bracket (rear) still not quite right but only a minor adjustment for the supplier to make, as we have gone from a two piece to a one piece arrangement between trial one and two. Also trying different fixing ideas for the flaps to the brackets without using standard hex bolts, which could look a bit meccano set for some.

Oh the red is for the trial use so they can be marked with a marker pen by the supplier and myself. Black will be the primary colour but I understand other colours will be available.

Soon be there and available for all those interested,

TP

Trial kit back with the manufacturer, now waiting hopefully for the first proper kit to be made and check it fits OK.

Will make contact with the company later this week if they don't get back to me first.

Hi,

spoke to the company this week, just waiting for the first production brackets to be finished and they will be posting the first set to try out (hopefully w/b 8th).

They suggest the aprox cost will be as follows;

PVC £64.95

Kaylan £119.95

Apologies it's taken a while but the rear flaps had to be designed separately, as the rear arch liners are not a mirror image.

Hope of help,

TP

Ouch!

What is the likelihood of a group buy on these?

Most of their other equivalent sets are priced at £54.95....

£50 delivered for the first 20 sets would be a good price for a group buy (I would've thought).... It's still a grand for them....

Steve :)

Hi Steve,

happy to put that to the company, although I've no influence over their business decisions; just been working with them as a bog standard customer, looking for a solution to a shortfall in Skoda Auto's own product line-up.

Obviously we would need twenty members looking for this product also.

hi to the plumber the copy types you were sent were the made of pvc or kaylon they look smart i deffo want black priced at £64.95 well im assuming thats for the set not really bothered about a group buy the cost & setting up in the manufacturing is well worth it i want mine now now now please keep updates thanks, hopefully they keep to their word and you gets yours free for being the test case in betweener or something like that

Hi Ken,

they were a PVC material but I'm not sure if it would be the same grade or better for the production version. Designing brackets have been the main hold up but hopefully the first production set will be on it's way for final test next week, after the Easter break.

Regards,

TP
