Sold my car today so the search for a VRS begins properly now !!

I am looking around the 3000-3500 price range but nothing local jumps out at me at present.

If anyone sees one can they give me a shout please, I have been on the usual sites so hopefully one or two will come up soon.

Either really, I would remap a standard one anyway so if It's already been done then that's ok.

I don't want stupidly high miles but appreciate that for my budget I won't get low miles.

I would have had a slightly higher budget but my fuel filler neck has split on my other car so that takes preference unfortunately.

Apart from the autotrader/ebay and gumtree where else can I look ?

I would say that i am looking for less than 120k but if the car was really nice i wouldn't mind going a bit higher

just over mileage but now fitted with plenty of parts to make it half its age

i just used your words from the above quote! mine is on 185,000 and the only faults are from mods that have been done. i also have had a pd engined octavia on 334,000 still on the original engine and box! dont let lots of miles put u off so long as they have been looked after and they have proof!

So as long as its been serviced regularly and looked after well then they should be good for 200k+ then ?

Does that still apply if they have been mapped to the standard 170 area ?

If so this should open up a few more cars to me

You should get one around the 100,000 mile mark with good history/condition. You`ll just have to travel a bit, but if your spending a few grand might as well travel for a decent motor.

hi neaky, one just went in south wales 04 plate 162,000 miles, silver. saying that i bought mine with 114,000 on the clock, back in february, i then got the timing belt and water pump changed, just clocked up 127,000 odd, i have changed some bits but they have been the originals so far play. took me a while to get mine, so expect to travel but worth the wait. happy searching.
