New to the Skoda Revolution!

Featured Replies

Hello.

I have just (4 hours ago) bought and driven home a 56 plate Octavia VRS 2.0T and am still smilling about it!!!

I had a civic diesel before it... and before that a Astra sport hatch (formerly a member of Astra owners club) and can honestly say (even after 4hrs) the octavia is the best car i have owned!

I am looking for the following though:

Matts,

re-map,

exhaust,

a sat nav head unit,

and some nice rear sun shields so my lad isnt blinded.

Please could someone help me??

Thanks for your time

JT

Welcome good choice but keep it quite dont let everyone on astra owners site know how good they are :giggle:

Get some pics up what colour any extras?

HI and welcome aboard.

Ha, another convert. welcome to the grin club mate!

I've put these in my vRS, the passenger side fits straight in and you can easily cut round the pedals for the drivers side. I find the combination of rubber and carpet a good compromise. Not sure how much you want to spend, these are 19.99 a set

if you want specif mats for the Octy there's these

cheers

Both of my VRS came with Matt's and my 2005 ones are still in great condition and thats with two kids hammering them all the time with dirty shoes.

Im surprised yours dont have them but anyway i would recomend the official Skoda ones with the twist lock they have served me very well.

Hi JT,

Sorry I assumed you already had te standard mats in your car. The OE ones are good so are also a worthy choice- I just put these Halfords ones in to save the OE ones and they're easily taken out to clean off...... (How sad is that!) :giggle:

Thanks for all the welcome messages. Have ordered the official VRS Mats (It had fitted rubber mats in but they are to slippery for my liking)

I will be adding a few pics of it at the weekend after a decent wash and some sunlight lol

Does anyone recommend any decent polish?? I didnt bother with the Last car (Civic) as it wasnt loveable.

Also does this club have any meets lined up for 2013?

Cheers for your help

JT

I use autoglym stuff myself- AG shampoo as it's ph neutral so doesn't strip the polish. Snowfoam is good as a preclean to help remove the worst of the crud wihout rubbing if you've got a jetwash. for polish many use autoglym resin as the base then use a hard wax like autoglym high dev or Collinite 845 on top though AG High Dev is not cheap but the pot lasts for ages (key is to apply as little as possible with the applicator), though others recon Collinite is cheaper and last longer. I use the 2 bucket method with grit guards in the bottom which helps stop scratching the paint as you clean too- there's loads on utube regarding this if you're interested.Key advice from those in the know seems to be use loads of microfibre cloths and a micro fibre or lambs wool cleaning mit to prevent scratching while you clean/polish and make sure your water in your buckets is kept clean

have a look at this tread too. loads of good advice here....
