I have a rear courtesy light (twin bulb unit from an elegance model) ready to wire up in the Monte.... Does anyone have any wiring diagrams for the interior lights (front and/or rear)....???

I'm sure 32K did this. He's probably your best bet. Although in all honesty I never thought Stevie Wonder would need a rear passanger light.

Don't have any diagrams and to be honest you don't need any as the wiring is quite straight forward for any electrician UNLESS you want to try to do it yourself.

Just pull down the front interior dome light and check which wire does what - If I remember correctly the plastic at the back shows also which is the positive, ground etc. but not sure.

You then have to tap to those cables and connect them to the rear dome light which since is an original should work just fine.

My local dealer is trying to sort out which loom is required, and whether I can get the correct plugs to wire it up with an OEM look.

I will keep any part no.s and post them up for future reference.

I wouldn't mind doing that mod as it is pitch balck in the back at night. What is the part number for that light assy?

Yeah this is something I would like to do also though would not dare to as its a lease car an if they realize when it goes back dare not think how much they would charge me for it even though its actually improving the car.

How do you get to the wiring in the roof liner? I want to do something simmilar but I cant thread a wire too the front light box because of the roof liner being so tight (ooh eer)

Push them through with a steal wire for a guide.

Mine has no elec rear windows.(IMO a bit of a waste of money since I can't see the driver or front seat passenger wanting to open a rear window,and,as far as I know,I'm unlikely to carry a rear seat passenger with arms not strong enough to turn the handles.)....but I still have a rear courtesy light.

EDIT...I suppose rear elec windows can be "locked out" so that kids can't mess with them,but this doesn't affect me.

My wife's monte carlo delivered a few days ago already has a rear interior light but we may have different specs here in Czech Rep.

Gonna whip out the old wire coat hanger to thread in some wiring... Got an idea from a Taxi I was in last week. It was like Encounters of the 3rd kind.

If your fitting a new rear light for example would you not be removing the headlining anyway to cut the hole in it? I know I wouldn't do it in the car. Wiring would be easy once the headlining is out.

Thats like the light I got off ebay for 99p, they're about £45 new!!

The plug would locate on the new light, and the other end of the wires would need to be soldered into the existing feed to the front courtesy light.
