Ad Lav's vRS Estate

Featured Replies

I have decided after much deliberation that I should start one of these threads as I have good intentions of modding the wagon! Just as long as the misses isn't looking...

The Skoda story for me started in late 2004 just after my dad bought a 54 plate Fabia vRS. I couldn't afford the insurance on one so I went out and bought a Seat Ibiza TDI Sport (130bhp ASZ) - practically the same anyway just styling differences!

Standard guise:

The modding begins!

Audi RS4 alloys, 312mm brakes and Eibach springs... and a LCR splitter.

Octavia Spiders! I was the first on SCN to put these wheels on an Ibiza MK4! Trend setter!

Coilovers fitted and wheel colour change.

DIY colour coding and smooth boot...

Bodyshop finish next and smooth Cupra bumper!

Milltek exhaust was next, and an interior re-trim. Alacantara headlining and seat inserts, plus a whole lot of shiny bits and a boot build :)

Sad day - I sold the Ibiza to buy a house with my now wife!

I bought a MK3 Golf GTI Colour Concept as a run around/possible project and it was a hidden crap hole, cost me a fortune so dumped it for a Ford Fiesta Zetec S...

Which I colour coded and dropped on Eibach springs

Great handling car, just far too slow and juicy, hated the revvy engine.

Finally Skoda's turn...

I chopped the Fiesta in for a 2006 Fabia vRS with FSSH and one lady owner... all seemed well until it turned out I had to have the clutch replaced :( Silly woman driver - it had only done 27k miles!

Still, a minor hiccup and I then set about modding again...

Detailling session

Colour coding bits and bobs and a rolling road day revealed 157.1bhp and 251lb/ft - stock :)

Decked it on a set of Spiders, job done :)

Another sad day - sold the vRS!

Followed by a happy day 3 months later - my new vRS arrived at the dealers along with my parents Yeti!

I have thought of reps - would save a bloomin' fortune!

They can be a bit stuck up on Ed38 if you don't own a VW, its like they frown on you for not having one lol

I went to Belgium once for a set of BBS RKII's, got them for a steal!
