i'm looking for a proper top dogs danglys one lol :p i bought a cheapy one with 1 year warranty 2 years ago ands it gone poo! :@

Geuine then m8 ;)

I was looking at batteries on ECP. Some of them (Bosch maybe) have 3/5 years warranty.

I got myself a BOSCH 4 year one from ECP with 25% off (about £30 I think, but guessing being for a petrol it will be weaker/cheaper). Decent brand and the 4 year warranty was only £2-3 more than the standard battery. (BRISK25 for the 25% off.)

you my friend are a legend, i shall have a look when the site starts to work again! :(

Site's up for me . . .

Just had a look out of interest, the same battery is twice the price for the vRS! Ouch! (~£60 with discount). Got some 3 year BOSCH's for £50ish though with discount.

How much is an original one? They last about 10 years in a new car so would be worth knowing. I bought a Bosch Silver several years ago for another car and that seemed very good.

Yup bosch s5 is the daddy

Mine's got a Bosch on it, been on it since I got it 3 years ago and still going strong. Not sure how long it'd been on before I got it? -3 this morning when I started it and cranked first time, no struggle. Not sure what the amp/hours is on it but if you need I can check.

well the s5 is 77 760 i think. i know mines a **** one lol :(

Well the one in my SE was, I believe, already failing when I bought it at 3.5 years old and I replaced it this time last year with an Exide one of greater capacity. I certainly wouldn't buy one from Skoda...

+1

+ 1 for Bosch. I replaced the battery on the Felly back in March at the same time as the MOT. The VW garage stuck on a VW branded economy battery, £40ish and so far so good.

Bosch. The Lupo gets used rarely, and I've run the battery flat a couple of times, but it still survives. ECP or GSF will do a good price.

What year is your Fabia? I believe there are 2 sorts of battery for the Fab vRS, I'm not sure if it's related to engine code, BLT or ASZ.

Is there any reviews/tests on batteries? I've seen an Auto-Express one, but it's 5 years old.

Got one of these, good job :)

Thought to be originally but recently proved not. The battery change from 096 to 027 occurred after the introduction of the BLT engine.

Interesting that the OEM one isn't much good, I thought they lasted for years. I personally would go for a Bosch Silver (aka S4).

yes its the 096 one, and after i told my friend has a trade account with them about the discount he rang up giving them abit of slack and they have discounted even more... lol so its 65 quid for the battery :p
