Numpty Floor Mat Question

Featured Replies

Idiot question but are the floor mats in the mk2 estate different from the mk2 hatch?

And second idiot question, are the rears meant to have clips? My car has the clips in the front but nothing (as far as I can see unless they're under the front seats) in the back...

Cheers!

Dave

The ?koda accessory catalogue gives different Estate and hatchback versions for some things like bootliner but not for floor mats. So,,,

No clips at the back

On eBay at the moment supposedly out a mk2 Octy.

Pre facelift? I have the original facelift mats without clips at the back, shape of the front mats is different also.

My estate (2013 model) has clips for the rear mats.

Thats interesting, do you also have the counterparts in the floor of the car? Cause I sure don't and mine is built september 2012

My 08 mkII estate has rear clips. Rear mats are same as the ones in the pic.

Yes. They have a cross head so they can be screwed into the carpets so I would imagine if you want some then the parts dept could order them.

I dont have rear clips on a Sept 08 build.

There no point for those as my rear mats have a really sticky underside. They stick to the floor like glue. Thatswhy I was surprised. Hmm, I guess carpets are something that get put in by the dealers, hence the different setup per different market.

The mats for the estate and hatch (front and rear are identical).

The mats for the pre-FL and facelift are also identical (shape) as the floorpan didn't change.

There are two types of clips, push fit and cross head.

I always thought the push fit were factory fit, cross head were dealer fit?

The cross head type were superceeded by the push fit type.

My 2007 vRS has cross head rears and push fit fronts.

My 2008 Scout has no clips in the rear and push fit in the front.

Super confused now. Pitch black outside so I can't be faffed going to look but do we think there might be holes somewhere in the rear for push fit thingies to go in?

What year is your Octavia?

My 2008 Scout has no clips in the rear and push fit in the front.

Ditto my 2008 Scout

Ive just got the rubber skoda mats for my octavia, and was also baffled by the clips, as there are no holes or fitments on my car. The mats came with fitments but to be honest the mats are such a snug fit in the footwells they aint moving out of position at all even after 2 week taxi driving, so my advice is avoid the darn clips altoogether and when they need jet-washing its gonna be much easier without the clips!!! :-)

You don't clean your mats in the back after two weeks of work as a taxi !!!

Mine is a taxi and they get done twice a week, more in the winter after the roads have been salted and its wet.

Well I won the ones above for £16 after shoving a bid in and then forgetting about it! Will report back when they arrive and when/if I need to get some screw in bung things for the rears.
