For anyone who has been looking at these here are a few answers to your questions:

1) Yes, they are plug and play with exisiting wiring in Fabia (as long as you have/buy a plug and play adapter with the MFD

2) No, you do not have remove the glovebox to fit them.... to stop wires bunching up behind the MFD when fitting remove blanks where heated rear window switch is and pull plug and play adapter and excess wires onto the tray here and tie into place untill fitted.

I would suggest removing the cloth wire tape from the wiring loom (black and brown plugs) to give more play with wires.

3) GPS aerial can be fed through hole in top right (closest to glove box corner) of the footwell near the footwell airvent there is a gap leading to back of dash wiring etc round back of HU

Finally does anyone know the part number for the plastic trim that needs to go above the MFD now its in as symphony HU was taller..... i know its a couple of quid but dealers comps have been down so part number will help out a lot.

Richard

Looks good - hope you find that part number, it will make it look real tidy :D

Edited - how much was this to purchase please?

Great thanks

The plastic bit above fits perfectly and is an exact colour match too.

Looks excellent

It sure does - and boy that's a LOT cheaper than the option price, it being 2.5k !!

Almost tempted but outta cash :(

The part number is 6Y0 857 231 B41

Wonder if you could just buy the dashpod from Skoda and not the Sat Nav unit so that you get the nice menu pictured on the Skoda web site?

Might just do that, then sell mine on Ebay, I wonder how much you would get for a used dashpod and is it all digital so that you could plug it into another car and it would start fresh?

No1, it would have the mileage in it from the other car so would be considered clocking and therefore illegal.

No2, it would have to be coded to the engine ECU and Immibilizer/keys by a dealer (unless you knew both security codes and had VAG COM)

couple of things :)

a) how does the swivel screen work (whats on the other side)?

B) did it come with warranty?

c) is it used / refurbished? :)

cheers! looks good! :)

The screen only tilts a couple of degrees, there isnt anything on the other side.

That looks excellent - what exactly did you get for your

Bargain then, sweet.

I helped my mate fit one to a Polo GTi the other week... They really are lovelly bits of kit.

I was very tempted, but I've got TomTom and a decent stereo already, so it wouldn't really make financial sense for me to do it.

By the way, I thought the sound from the Navi was really good.

I 've got a TomTom Go already but I know my old man's got his eye on it. I was thinking of upgrading the Stereo very soon so this would be a good option and an easy and very early Chistmas present interms of the TTG for my Dad.

Very interesting! Does this effectively include the Symphony CD unit with the buttons repositioned? Also, how does the software compare with, for example, TomTom - and can you update it?

You cant listen to music on one of them headunits, you need it connected to a multichanger (or simalar). The CD drive is for the sat nav disc only.

Hmm. So what do people normally do for radio etc when one of these is fitted?
