not too keen on the sound, although not much louder, but not discernable when driving along, at least my turbo is safer

I have to admit I quite like the sound. Even more so when you've got it opened right up over 3k rpm ;)

Im gonna live with it for a while and see how i get on but i have a company that can make noise reducing straight through silencers pretty cheap to fall back on

  • Author

Fitted a back box today just to stifle the noise a little, a straight through performance box with perforated baffle pipes in it. Huge difference to sound and actually keeps the turbo noise but drops the drone alot. Ill post up pics tomorrow

Sounds intriguing :)

haha yeah. Actually it was entrance to customers drive, they have electric gates and in middle of drive there was one of those metal things that stops the gates once closed, i must have been so close before i dropped it the last time and just forgot it would be that close. I got a thump off the dogbone mount too lol

Ouch!

In my old car I once failed to spot a monster speed bump on a semi surfaced private road and managed to scrape the spare wheel well!

  • Author

the spare wheel well? or the spare wheel...............well (as in properly) :giggle:

aye i sometimes wonder why i dropped it so much, but then i get out (slowly using elbows and aching hips as its a long way up) and see it side on and think 'yeah ill leave it like that'.

So my prezzies arrived today, one of my pro sport rear shocks was leaking a little oil so i phoned the co that i bought them from "veedubmachine" and they just sent out a new pair no questions asked as part of the warranty - well happy

Now as most know the jom/prosport rear springs can be a little soft so i got in touch with powerflex and bought these

mods.jpg

far more solid than standard and progressive so no banging, but handles alot more weight without collapsing. Glad i did cos on jacking up my old bump stops were like this

And fitted, looks alot more capable

and added my back box of course, cos of the straight through being a tad too loud. Sounds much better now though

dirty and still with support wire under whilst i welded but you get idea, to be finished when weather improves, and new rear bumper gets fitted

So I was desperate for cash, and decided for the winter i was as well to sell my rs4's and take a partx on them. Got a set of 16 inch beetle alloys with bridgestones on and £200, and to be honest the improvement in comfort and the lack of rubbing makes me wanna stick with this kinda size - allowing me to go at least 20mm lower. Quite like these for now. Was just nice to release some cash

These are very light wheels by comparison, and the difference in fuel economy and acceleration is reasonably marked.

They suit the car rather well :-)

Cheers man were a big gamble, but with bills afoot and weather screwing business i had to think fast, sold all my **** and got it together. It appears however i may have stumbled on an unusual but effective look. Now all i have to decide is colour hehe

greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Well yes there is green, and although sublime, its been done haha. Still finking proper deep candy red too.
