Cold feet

Featured Replies

The recent cold snap has highlighted a "feature" in the octavia heating system. Trying to warm my feet, heat on max, fan on max, after a few seconds, my shins are burning like they are in a dyson airblade. On short runs, you just man up and bear it, but on long runs like I may be doing down to Frankfurt after xmas, well six hours is a bit too much. It seems like the heater is under capacity for the vehicle. The area beyond your shins is always cold and anyway you really need all the heat in the cabin.

Even wearing my walking boots doesn't really help, Plus they are not good to drive in.

Considering skoda is based in Cz, which is very cold in winter, you would think a problem like this would be sorted asap.

I was wondering if there are any flaps or additional vents to direct warm air footwards? Or a little mod? What do the Scandinavians do?

I'd be interested to know myself if there are any mods, as I think this is a particular weak spot in the Octavia heating system.
