Will this quick shift fit?

Featured Replies

Pretty sure it won't, had a look into a short shift kit about a year ago with no luck!

I think I read somewhere that forge tried to make a kit but couldn't for some reason?

I'm sure someone else will know more about it than me tho.

Both say that they wont fie the fabia. Ahh well looks like its staying standard :)

Lop an inch off the metal part of the gear lever for a pikey short throw effect. ;)

You could always do the pikey short shifter mod. I did it on my old Fabia and it made a nice difference. It is irreversible though, as it involves removing an inch off the gearstick shaft (ooh err).

Do a search, it should come up, there was a good guide written up (by Basil, I think). Essentially all you need is a pipe cutter (£3 ish from Screwfix) and a fairly sturdy jubilee clip.

What about the sigma (diesel geek) kit is that any good? Had the 5 speed version On my old Seat Ibiza Cupra and it was ace, made a HUGE difference.

I'm not lobbing any off my gearshifter as it's irreversible and a false economy.

Hmm I've seen that I may consider it but I'm going to wait till I get an armrest fitted first :)

Unsure but if that other one doesnt i guess that wont as it looks pretty much the same. Best way to find out is email them and get a definite answer rather than people just guessing.

I have a short shifter kit in the car, it is boxed, never been used and still has the shipping details and price on the invoice, £279!!

details are;

UUC motorwerks

Audi S4/A6 biturbo ultimate short shifter version 3

I would imagine as most things VAG it would be generic but I can not confirm this.

PM if you are interested
