My gf told me that the brake lights come on without the keys in, or with the lights on.I didn't believe her but when she showed me I had a bit of a head scratch moment! Is this normal for a fabia? Can't say I've ever seen a car do it before. Brake switch at fault maybe?

yep that's normal for a lot of cars.

Most cars do this. If you are being towed, trying to bump start, stall, have the engine fail, etc, it gives the car behind a sporting chance of not running into you when you brake.
