Question re voice phone activation

Featured Replies

Question for those who have factory bluetooth and regularly use the voice activation.

Not a great user of mobile phones, so making a call in the car is rare. However the last couple of times I've noticed that with the radio switched on (again not a great user of this either, except winter for local traffic reports) the Bolero's screen does not change to the phone page but stays with the radio screen, although the radio does mute.

Now I seem to have it in my mind that in the past when activating the phone and using voice commands, the screen changed from the radio page to the phone page automatically :wonder:

Am I imagining this or should the page indeed switch and if so have I inadvertently disabled the feature somehow, or have we another minor electrical gremlin :wonder: :wonder:

Thought from the 'floor' appreciated,

TP

Can't say for Bolero but the Amundsen does not change. Display in Maxidot does change to phone.

Without checking, I think the Bolero is the same as stated above. Will let you know when I have checked...

I have a Bolero, and coincidently received a call on my mobile while I was driving.

The screen on the Bolero changed to the phone screen and muted the CD I was listening to.

I answered the call, spoke to someone at a company who needed to update me on some progress, and after the call ended, the CD returned to the appropriate screen.

I hope this helps.

Mine is the same as 33q; the Bolero screen only changes to "phone mode" when the ignition is off but I still have the radio on. :wonder:

That's not how my Bolero works. :p

Checked on mine driving home tonight: when you click on the roller on the LH side of the steering wheel to activate voice control, the Bolero goes in to phone mode with the six preset numbers showing on the screen.

Trouble is, I can never remember how to get out of voice control mode! Took me three goes to work out that you have to say "cancel"...

Hmm, that's odd: I can't edit my previous posting.

Anyway: CORRECTION! Playing around with it a bit more this morning (and possibly running a red light ever so slightly in the process  ) I discovered that when the Bolero is playing the radio, a CD or from the SD card then clicking the roller to activate voice control does not switch to the phone screen. It does mute/pause the audio, and you get a wee phone handset icon near the top left of the screen, but the display stays on the audio source you were playing from.

I also discovered that you can activate bluetooth streaming from the voice control menu (say "Music" and "Play") which is handy, since otherwise it's a faff having to navigate through the Bolero setup menus.
