just double checking - Door micro switch.

Featured Replies

well went out to the car earlyer and the door open light sayed on on the dash, inside light stayed on and the passenger light in the door card stayed on.

Had to take the bulb out of the door card to stop it draining the battery.

Are we saying this is the faulty door microswitch?

The drivers side only thinks its open when its on the catch (you know when you dont close the door propperly and its like its on a latch) - Iffy micro switch?

shame if it is as this means BOTH doors need doing :(

I would say yes it does.

Note that if the drivers door is at fault it would also light up the passenger door

thanks for the backup dude. just a little worried it wont be this and changing it would be a waste of ££ :)

Does only the passenger door switch light up the passenger door and the drivers do both?

I only ask as it was only the passenger door light that was on and the drivers was still 1/2 functioning like it has been....

Let me drop this in and see what people think.

My interior light is on all the time (if I have the switch set to 'door open'. Initially the light would flicker on when I was driving, but has now gone 24/7, even when the car is locked). However the drivers door puddle light still works as expected, as does the LED in the door when the car is locked.

You issue sounds a little like the interior light has open circuit. Mine went like that when I first bought car and replaced with another unit in the scrappy and all was well again.

I guess I could drop it out and check, only downside is that I would need to re-apply my homemade w8 mod if I had to replace the unit.

Dont forget there are 4 or more micro switches in each door lock. All doing different things
