My New Toy.

Featured Replies

Just wanted to introduce myself....

Took delivery of my brand new VRS in black today. I am well happy with my purchase and from what i have seen they appear to be good motors. My only worry with the car is that people keep telling me that it will depreciate like crazy, but i tend to disagree. Everyone who sees my car loves it and it generates a lot of interest. I'm not to bothered as i plan on keeping the car for a while yet. This looks like a good site so hope to speak to you all soon. Cheers guys.

Welcome to the site and congratulations on your new car :D

Black, the only real colour for a RS :D

Hi and Welcome!

envy is a terrible thing hence the comments on depreciation.;) It's actually not the bad retaining around 36-40% after 3 years depending on model. Of course if you start on the slippery slope of modification then that will have an affect but the mods wil ahve their compensations.:D

Enjoy!

Cheers.

Adrian.

Modification? Perish the thought ... :p

Welcome, Phil

welcome.. we will soon turn you to the dark side of modding;)

welcome and congrats on your purchase!

Phil

Look at it this way. Tell the doubters what a bargain you have.

In pure percentage terms, my Audi A4 retained its value brilliantly in the time that I had it - but still lost

You're gonna love it, matey :)

Especially the strange "Does not compute" looks people give you!

Regards,

Mark

Enjoy it.

Depreciation my arse, I still see 18 month old vRS's on forecourts for

Thanks Witchfinder. I'll just slightly stretch her legs.

Sorry, I'd just hate to see you suffering problems further down the line because you pushed your lovely new motor too hard too soon! ;)

EDIT: Oh, and welcome to Briskoda! The guys will tell you I'm too conservative when it comes to speed anyway. I never go faster than 28 MPH! :D

i think he mean km/h

Welcome too from one of the non-RS owners on this site! Nice car... grouphug.gif

The thought of over 200bhp in a skoda does have immense appeal. Hmmmmmm.......

Nah, you really want over 300 :D

Hi Phil, welcome to the board

Nice choice if I do say so myself ;)

Nah, what you Really want is a Nissan Sunny, sorry Micra or something like that.

Hi Phil

Welcome to Briskoda -- Full marks for correct Model & Colur choice,as someone said - only 1 colour for vRS models.

As for modifications -- I swore blind that I wouldnt tinker with my car when I got it......that was last Sept, and now it's booked in at Jabba for remap,DV & induction kit plus I have ordered a full Milltek zaust inc sports cats--- MEEOOW.

Yeah skodaw i know. I bought it with every intention of leaving it well alone. After all, ithink its a quick car as standard. But i have got a feling that sooner or later the mod bug isgonna bite. It just seems too easy to extract a few more horses. We'll see.

Hi and welcome:cheers:

I don't think the RS looses too much of its value. Our dealer recently had a Y reg in and was going for over

Cheers Neil. Just looked on the skoda web site and they do appear to be holding value quite well. I think in a few years skoda may have similar residuals as VW. Apparently the VRS does actually hold its money well.

Never buy a new car if you are bothered about depreciation. Enjoy it
