 my favourite quote of the week. Thankyou Fabia 2.0RS

NO NO NO that's not how I meant it!! *Grunt*...I know that sounds a bit stuck-up, I assure you that's not what I meant. What I meant to say was that there are absolutely no diesel cars here in the U.A.E., the only vehicles that use diesel are trailer trucks and pick up trucks.

My bad, apologies to all TDi owners :o

But seriously though....diesel was found and used primarily for slow moving extremely high-torque machinery, not for cars. Spark plugs are the works baby, they don't get better than those....put put put put...

Oh jeez. I actually meant "build quality", and I actually said "quantity".

I actually typo'd on my typo error correction. Doh.

Weeks and weeks waiting for your job to finish with little else to do, see what it does to you.

Anyway, thanks for the tip about the 1.4 TDI. A worthwhile thought indeed.

I'm not too sure what the BHP is on my current 1.4. Prolly about 1/2 Bhp.

No, seriously I think its between 55-60 BHP which is about normal.

No less than that I would hope.

:

The Pug is LIGHTER????? Did you know that they put more weight on the car because it's too light as a stock model to handle 180bhp??? It is 1500kgs buddy!! Read up before you make your statements.

Actually did read up' date=' got the weight from Whatcar which said the 180 weighed 1150 odd kilo's. (Can't remember off the top of my head).

What weight is a Clio Sport?

:

I've been in a Pug 180 and it is not as fast as I though it would be. It is the complete opposite. The Mini Cooper S is faster than it. :D

Agreed. I wasn't impressed at all by it.

:

Like I said' date=' you understimate the capabilities of the 2.0. It is FAST :D

[/quote']

Nope, not underestimating it at all. I've no doubt it's just as fast as a stock vRS but both of them are slower than a Pug 180. No point trying to kid ourselves.

:

And thank you for backin' me up Chris :D At least now that you're there to back me up' date=' the vRSomaniacs can open their minds up a bit ;)

[/quote']

MY mind is wide open, thanks. I've only had my vRS for about 5 weeks and I accept it for what it is. A diesel car that gives me great mpg when I want it to but also has a little bit of poke if I need it. I'm not under any illusion that it's the fast thing on 4 wheels.

pugeot 206 gti 180 details from peugeot themselves just now

180bhp

202 nm torque(152lbft)

137mph

7.4 0-60mph(100kph)

kerb weight of 1150Kg and a gross weight of 1500Kg, its the kerb weight that everyone quotes by the way as its lower

I've no doubt it's just as fast as a stock vRS

That's what I wanted to hear ;)

Springveldt, I'm not under the illusion my car is faster than a Pug 180. I know it isn't. But I also know that in a race I have the greatest ability to kick a** because of the torque the car has. Yeah, it doesn't have the torque of a vRS, but for a petrol car, it's got great torque. I know which cars I'm capable of having a go at...that's why I don't mess with Type-Rs and MC S Works :D

Bengie, I stand corrected then. The representative from 'F-hahnce' told me it was 1500kgs straight up, so I assumed that as the kerb weight. My bad dude.

Fabias, in general, RULE :D

fabia's are quite heavy but not as heavy as mine, mine started at 1500Kg kerb and i then added 3 amps, two subs and afair bit of wiring so my car is more like 1600Kg :o

i'd still take ya 2.0 ltr fabia on in my simple little 1.8 octavia ;)

Oh **** you have an Octavia vRS?? Or no? And why did it start off so heavy???? Explain man I'm confuooose, I no like bein' confuooose..... I thought you had a Furby :o

Still...I think it would be a good race since you put all that weight on your car...PLUS yourself...

Please don't ever remove your system from your car :P

EDIT:- I just saw the pics in your gallery..that ain't no vRS...if thats a 20V turbo though, then you have a chance...otherwise, dream on :p

its 4x4 with CAI, FMIC, jabba re-map, boost controller, some samco pipes, KW coilovers and hopefully soon some bigger brakes. Jabba RR'd it at about 225/256 running 95RON fuel, i know run nothing but super :D

the butt dyno is fairly happy but ultimatly wants more, i think it always will :o

my personnal butt dyno is a heavy duty industrial item so does indeed creat a bit of a drag on the car due to weight :o

That's what I wanted to hear ;)

No problem' date=' remember I said stock though. :)

Yep, it is does have a decent amount of torque for a petrol. My last car was a Golf VR6 and that was excellent for torque as well. Was also excellent at eating petrol. :thumbdwn:

No argument here, I'm very happy with mine.

Yes...we're talking stock...that's the point. I found out I can get my car fixed upto 210bhp easy here...at a pretty good price too... then I'll rule Dubai roads

hows that then? turbo or going throttle body type route? or super charger even?

Complete free-flow exhaust system with a cold-air intake and stock ECU remap + turbo.

If converted to pounds, it would set me back about GBP1,100.00...

If you take a 2 liter petrol block & slap a turbo on it, it's gonna beat a 1.9 turbodiesel very, very easily if tuned right.

Considering the 1.8T engine ;)

With petrol you rev more, and that's where it starts to gain a lot, whereas with diesel the torque pulls you through the gear quick.

Petrol engines do have torque too though ;)

The PD100 diesel is not a bad one at all, and perfectly nimble on the motorway. I'd certainly consider it as a second car but then I'd probably go for the cheapest one instead if it's for 'tMissus ;)

Correct...and considering the 200BHP Golf GTi and the fact that it is heavier, imagine a 2.0 Fabia with that kind of power. I can't wait!!! :D

i wouldn't expect that sort of power mate, your engine was only designed as a N/A engine so the internals probably won'tbe upto running that much power, your conversion will be a low pressure turbo system running around 5-7psi i would have thought giving probably 160bhp or so.

either way a very good increase for an N/A engine and also at a very good price, good luck if you go for it
