Spec change on Rapid

Featured Replies

With immediate effect the Rapid now comes with the following as standard:

S - Electrically Adjustable/Heated Mirrors

SE - Rear Electric Windows

Cruise Control

Front Fog Lights (not cornering)

Elegance - Climate Control

Rear Parking Sensors

Getting a bit more competitive day-by-day but a pity Skoda UK messed up the pricing to start with.

Still no aircon on the S model?

Seems strange but no :wonder:

Be honest, how many Rapid have you sold since launch?

just to clarify these additions at no extra cost ?

ha ha then they wouldent start at £12K like skoda said..........

Even though they dont already.

Technically no, but in practice they start at 12K. The cheapest S model OTR price is 12,900 but Skoda UK are adding 1K to your deposit for the time being, so price is £11,900

No extra charge on the bits.

softscoop - a couple so far, so not exactly setting the world alight. I've mentioned in previous threads that it's launch was at a bit of a strange time (nigh on Xmas) and as it stands the Octavia and Fabia Estate show a greater value for money with the current campaigns. Until the new Octy arrives the Rapid doesn't really have it's own particular 'segment' for both size and pricing.

They need to get a better engine selection out for the Elegance including DSG in my opinion. :)

One petrol and one diesel, the latter of which has only 5 gears is not really going to broaden it's appeal.

I can't see why a DSG won't become available in the Elegance (or throughout the range), does seem odd.

Hopefully some time in the new year???

Well the Toledo is available in highest spec with any engine in the UK.

The Rapid Elegance is also available with any engine you want in Germany, so it seems that it's Skoda UK limiting choice again.

I was aware of the Toledo having the DSG in top spec and you'd have to guess that Skoda will follow suit (at some point).

Such a shame the SE 1.4 122PS only has a DSG that engine is soo nice with a Manual in the mk6 golf.

Toledo might have lower CO2 for the 1.2tsi 6 speed.

Air con still not even an option on the 'S'?

black one se model with 17s on it black windows and i would like the grey inside like the rommy if they do it

tbh, the Rapid seems to be a bit of an oddball model, with no apparent real slot in the market place.

Sizing being so close to the current Octy, with a very limited range of engines, almost seems like a model too far.

Skoda currently have a really decent & very successful core of model range, the Rapid & the rumoured model just below the Yeti could actually muddy the waters & damage profitability having too many models, & it only needs 1 of them to be a duffer & push it into the realms of Ford & Vauxhall reputation.

It's nice to see they up the spec on the rapid  but to they put the 1.4 TSI & 7 speed DSG or 6 speed manual in the elegance or there is a vRS trim i can't see me having one

Greentec versions of the Rapid are also now available.

Hi with these extra features what's availabilty like on se petrol with rear sensors and solid paint?

I'd be gobsmacked if there was any sort of availability issues with the Rapid! Way over priced ATM IMO, give it a few more months and I reckon you'll see a half decent campaign as well as a better discount/contribution. Hopefully they'll add equipment again in a few more months. I can't see the Rapid selling on outright Quality so it has to be on value for money surely?

Poverty spec Rapid needs to be buy-able for ?9999. doesnt matter how, vat-free or deposit contribution, just below ?10k to drive one away

No one will buy it but it will bring traffic through the door amd the better spec cars should sell themselves once they get a slight reduction.

I would seriously consider a Rapid if the 1.2htp comes with air con and a more realistic price.

Glad to read fogs are now standard on the SE; didn't look right without them but penny pinching not to have them with corner, as it's just a soft not firmware adjustment.
