Why is choosing a colour so hard?

Featured Replies

Hello

Hopefully ordering my VRS today, just can't choose between Silver or Black both with the standard wheels.

Rob

Pros and cons to both colours there. Black looks great but a nightmare to keep clean and looking good. Silver is easy to keep clean but can look boring.

I've owned both colours before and neither would be my choice but black looks better on the vRS and even better on the Monte.

Why not green and black ;)?

Yes yes, I'm missing the upper-part off the grill!

Not many Silver vRS around.

Easier to keep looking good.

Of the two colours mentioned the black suites the Fabia shape better IMHO but as stated above a chore to keep clean and looking nice. Been going for white myself of late; no extra cost and appears to me better at hiding the chips and light scratches normally associated with daily use.

I like the white also, but I'm not sure on the black wheels, not sure how the standard wheels would look with it.

The black is good especially with the black pack, just my current car is black so not sure if I need a change?

I have seen a Monte in silver with a black roof, it looked really good.

Of the two colours you mention, I would go for the silver, I had a black car once, never again, every small scratch, chip and dirt stands out really bad, after 100k miles, the front end looked like the solar system with all the little stone chips.

So for me I would go for silver or silver with a black roof.

What about Steel Grey? I dont think I've ever seen a VRS in that colour.

I don't think the vrs is available in grey.

Its on the configurator now, quite tempted by that but with what wheels?

Race blue with white roof like the original Mini Cooper S.

Worth checking with the dealer on that. Grey was on the configuration I think when I ordered mine but wasn't actually available to order. Does look very good tho! I'd imagine it would be as easy as the silver to keep looking nice

How about silver with white wheels? Or silver with black roof and black wheels

This easy and we all know it !

Fabia vrs only black suits it the mark 1 and 2

Octy vrs only the blue suits it

The Silver & the Grey shown for the UK is different from the ones in Oz.

They was available here for a while.

'Bright Silver Metalilc'

Last time i asked there was not an option to have a build with it.

(but, yes with the Monte Carlo.)

There was a vRS on Autotrader in 'Bright Silver' & it looked good.

Edit, looks like available now.

From Autotrader ads on Standard & Dark Chrome.

I like the, nobody will give it a second glance look, in Silver

& will be going for that Debadged.

If anyone has one like this.

Each to their own!

White is easier to touch up, so I believe, coz the basecoat is also white....doesn't show scratches and chips as much.

silver or steel grey

Colours are personal tastes, and whatever appeals to you is right whatever anyone else thinks.

Personally I wouldn't pay extra for metallic, but that's just me, and white wheels are utterly halfords chav.

Also, avoid any colour that is going to adversly affect resale value...when I see Octy vrs's in yellow I feel sorry for the owners come trade-in time.

I have yet to see one like this in the flesh.

A few greys for sale here in Oz, might give you an idea of what they look like.

Cool, I quite like them. Do you not get the black pack over there?

Why would yellow adversely affect resale value, it;s an extra cost colour, rare and sought after (by me anyway).

It's Rare because hardly anyone wants/likes it I guess. Makes it harder to sell on hence the lower resale value.

Correct.

However...An Octy is somewhat different to a Fabia...I wouldn't want one,but a Fabia hatch (not Estate!) in yellow with black wheels and roof would look OKish to me and would appeal a lot to my daughter.
