erm yes.. i've definitely seen one on a vw engined diesel generator, it might be worth looking through some of the sections on etka which are dedicated to the 'industrial' equipment

edit: mercury marine are the uk distributor for vw marine diesel engines too, some of those have steel rocker covers and various other upgraded components that the cars dont have
