(Westyorkshire area or mail order)

Cheers in advance

Standard = mega money

You can fit a stainless back box cheaper

Sorry to be a pain can you post a link for me!

Have a look at Venom Motorsport, I got a Jetex cat-back system and it was around £270 delivered... Sound is not intrusive at all :)

Where abouts in West Yorkshire are you? If your anywhere up near Yeadon try economy spares, not genuine items but supply's to a lot of garages in the area. It's my girlfriends dads place. They can get hold of anything. Number is 0113 2504649

Cheers lee im in bradford so ill give them s call tomorrow

They can normally get it in by the afternoon if you ring in the morning. Good for tyres too as it has a tyre bay on the side of the shop that our lass's brother runs.

I have original exhaust off mine, i've welded rear bracket up as mine started to come off,

Its not new but your welcome to have a look at it as am not far away

I messaged powerflow to see about getting an after market backbox and they said my whole exhaust was one piece, so would need to be cut and a new back box welded on. is this the case, or are they trying to charge me for extra work.. I would go and have a look but my cars knee deep in snow, so cant even get my head near the exhaust at the moment... just was hoping I could have an exhaust made up that was removable rather than welded in place

They should be able to cut old backbox off and sleeve new exhaust over standard system,

Not sure how they would weld new stainless steel backbox to a mild steel exhaust, would like to see that.

magic me thinks lol!

There is no problem welding stainless to mild other than it funks up the stainless and rusts. It welds just the same as mild to mild

you lose the benefit of stainless in the welded area though, i also think its weaker from what i remember, not recommended for structural elements (or ones that take lots of flex), from what i remember, have never done it mind.

The generic back boxes are usually 304 stainless which is fairly brittle anyway but yeah the weld will be weaker and more prone to cracking. Not a big enough problem to matter too much on an exhaust though.

I tell you what, i had a stainless milltek, that cracked on the twin exit pipes coming out the box, that was a right pig to reweld (as i don't have tig) so used mig with stainless rods, man i wish i had paid someone to do that, i was chasing holes the whole way round lol!

I think it kept cracking due to flex due to how long the end pipes were in relation to the backbox.

I don't have a tig set at home anymore so any stainless I do now is mig. It's just a slightly different technique.

15kg rolls of stainless are expensive though as is pureshield argon
