All MKV platform cars are PCD 112 x 5 sorry forgot to say now I have changed my car sig

That's a full size spare isn't it? I can see it has the speed warning on, but its not like a skinny space saver. Mine is 125/70 R16 :D That's narrow :D

205 is narrow! 235 on my current car

205 (40 R17) is standard size on my car, and I thought 205/50 R17 (and similar) was a standard octy size - which is why I thought it would be OK.

Ultimately the speed rating, not the width, should dictate the speed limit, and a V tyre can go very fast. Even my skinny space saver is M rated which means 88mph. I've done an indicated steady 70mph on a motorway with two fitted on back axle, and its been fine.

Yes they just put the speed rating on it because it will have a different width to the others ( 225 on my soon to go vRS ) if they are all that size they can go to the v rating ( which is 149 mph )
