ooooo this feels quick

Featured Replies

glad to say i got my vRS back this morning after a week in the body shop, gladly handed the keys to the golf back and hoped into the octy to make my way to work.

due to traffic i didnt get chance to "use" the car like i normally do but a quick blast out at lunch time confirmed why i love my car so much.

oh its great to have acceleration back again.

btw... if your looking at the new shape golf, dont get a 1.6 fsi, they are pants !

Ha. THOSE are pants?? I got a ride in a 2.0 FSi the other day. That's slower than the MK4 2.0!

Are you sure? MK4 2.0 is 115bhp where MK5 is 150bhp...I know MK5 probably weighs more but it would be a lot more to make that much difference.

Remember just because it feels slower doesn't necessarily mean it actually is. MK5 will out handle a MK4 due to new suspension.

I checked the specs..the MK5s kerb weight is just over 1400kgs

I'm aware of the specs of the two, but it's a hella slow man. I was not impressed with the ride...the build is great though..interiors were nice, it comes with smbient lighting in the front...

yep, new gold gt fsi weighs 1392Kg and takes 8.9 to 60 and hits 128 where the mk4 gti weighs 1205Kg and takes 10.7 to 60 and hits 119mph

the new 2.0 seems a fair bit faster than the old 2.0 but it was the worst of the old ones admitidly, the 1.8 was better, then the diesel then the 1.8T

GT FSI? How many bhp is that??? Because when i opened the manual it said the 150bhp 2.0 Golf does 0-62 in like 10 seconds or something.

 There is no way that using precious metals is going to result in weight savings hence the trend for aluminium :)

sod of you 'orible lot, so i make a typo. i think i'm just gonna go run off and join a certain past member in his hut. :P

I know exactly how you feel.

Ok so my car was only being serviced for the day yesterday but i still missed my vrs :o

My courtesy car was an octavia 1.6fsi which was very nice, good suspension and gear shift, nice interior but the engine...no torque

I did get 38mpg though!
