felicia heater illumination

Featured Replies

hi all the heater control illumination keeps going off and on is it easy to get to the back of the unit to sort the loose connection cheers nigel.

The heat box is actually quite easy to remove, the whole thing comes out with all the controls as one entire assembly, it's only held in by 2 nuts from inside the engine bay.. The wiring connection has in internal loom inside the heater box and is terminated on just a simple 3 pin plug, which has a live, an earth, and n interior ligting feed.

Petrol version left, diesel version right.... Like I say the whole thing comes out in one piece with the control panel still attached.

cheers so i undo the two nuts and withdraw the unit from the engine bay side is that correct.

Yes that's right, obviously you need to take the heater hoses off too, you need to take the strut brace off too, the wiring harness plug with 3 pins should be in the bottom corner on the passenger side, it's quite tricky to unplug because the loom in the dash is very short.

cheers tom i will have a look at that cheers nigel.

You don't need to take out the entire heater unit for a loose/corroded connector or for bad contacts of bulbs.

the problem i have is the heater position switch screen cabin ect keeps going on and off (loose bulb or wire) the fan speed and hot cold switch stay lit as they should i was hoping it would pull out from tne front to inspect the bulbs seems alot of work from engine side just for a loos bulb cheers.

Here you have the method of reaching the bulbs.

You'll need a pair of tweezers and a steady hand to extract the bulb.

On second illustration I've circled where to check for loose connections.
