There are two different types:

The GPS shark fin above is used on the GSMIII/Sat nav equipped Mk2 Superb

The Shark fin/Bee sting combo is used on the sat nav equipped Yeti and Octavia which (IIRC) are equipped with GSMII systems which lack the roof antenna. It'll probably appear on the Rapid no doubt.

Not sure which now. I have retro- fitted Columbus so need FM and GPS. I know that the Columbus works with Diversity, and I only have one connection at the moment. Reception through the current GPS puck which is hiding on dash good, didn't work so well when mounted underneath and Fm reception ok. Reception of anything transmitted around here is never brill, hence abundance of Sat dishes. Thought that the beesting/ shark fin combi would give slightly better reception. I fitted a short bee sting aerial from current polo and reception has decreased accordingly. Has anybody tried either of these with Columbus and if so what's the quality of signal like?

Thanks for replays so far

The F/l octavias have Gsm III fitted too.

This is the Ariel I have fitted to my F/L Vrs it has factory fitted Columbus and the Gsm III Bluetooth kit again factory fitted. Its different from the others you posted perhaps someone with access to part numbers can help.

I think the proper beesting/sharkfin antenna is the way to go. Your car will only have the FM antenna on the roof as standard.

You can get a 2 in one FAKRA adaptor to overcome the twin antenna problem if needed: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item19d4c05d83

My Superb has the sharkfin on the roof but I'm pretty sure FM is taken care of by printed antennas in the rear side windows hence the lack of FM beesting.

Your original beesting could also be faulty, they are renowned for water ingress based failures leading to crap FM reception.

Still a bit confused. Is the shark fin aerial only for GPS .FM taken care by printed antennas. Does the shark fin/ bee sting aerial not do both? I have the Fakra adapter but again if I am right this only splits the signal, which if poor already doesn't help. I will check to see if existing aerial is faulty due to water thanks for shark fin part number, any body got part number for the other type?

I have fitted a Polo GPS / Telephone / Radio Antenna

I have since fitted the premium Bluetooth module and my phone reception is great now

Hi Eddie-NL.

Thanks for the pics. That's the aerial I would like. Do you have part number and approximate price please? You obviously get good reception all round now.

How easy is it to fit a new aerial please and what's the easiest way to find out if yours isn't working correctly. My mate came round in his vrs yesterday and he can't get any stations on his. Mine has played up since swapping stereos
