Hid's

Featured Replies

Been thinking about changing the headlights in my car but got a few questions to ask first, what wattage are the oem hid bulbs in the fabia vrs?

Can the bulbs just be replaced or will a new kit be needed? Fr example if I wanted to replace them for 8k's?

Any help would be appreciated! Cheeers!

Have you got genuine xenons?

If you have, the bulbs can be replaced with a different temp, but 8K IMO are pointless.

They'll just be stupidly blue and will give you far less light that the standard 4300K

You will just need the bulbs as you will already have the ballasts fitted, I got mine a couple of months back and would not swap back to OEM or even Nightbreakers, HIDs are sooo much better!

I got them from the bay of e, they were just 33 quid delivered, bl00dy brilliant!! Will look up the link!!

I got 5300k and they are really nice. Daylightish and make for a much more relaxed drive; especially noticeable when you suddenly go from well lit to unlit roads.

Try this, I went for the 6000k and......

Sorry for the noob question, but do HID kits change the main beam and dippered to hid???

Main beam is a separate bulb...dipped is H7, main is H3...

oh and no, do not get an H3 kit for the main beam as HIDs do not like to be turned on and off quickly, they like to be used and warmed up

I made this mistake :/ Although I must admit they were brilliant while they lasted!

What bulbs do people normally use in the main beam? normal halogens?

Wouldnt this look slightly stupid though, with white/blue light when o dipped and yellow'ish ligh when on main beam

Sorry for being such a noob thou

I am looking for some nice while LEDs for the high beam (and sidelights), would like to know what others are using and useful links!

You won't get LED's for the high beam, the output required and beam light direction are critical. There is a reason why they are a £1K option on the new Leon. Just get yourself a set of 50% brighter halogen bulbs, they should give a comparative white light.
