Changing the Radio

Featured Replies

Evening all.

I'm trying to change the radio in my girlfriends 05 Fabia and when I connect up the new stereo the radio doesn't work.

I've tried to find a solution online but I think I may be missing a connection.

All I have is a brown and black sockets that plug directly into the new stereo and a large red pin that goes in to the new stereo

All other functions work properly just no radio. Am i missing something very simple here?

You have plugged the aerial cable into the back of the stereo? its not on the cables you mentioned but separate.

Large red looks like the aerial. If it's not already got one you need an aerial booster to use an aftermarket head unit. Something like this here.

Failing that, it could be the inline fuses are not correct for the head unit. They look like little bullets, and there should be 1 free. Try connecting that to one of the other fuses to see if this solves your problem.

What HU is it? From memory you need to swap two wires over.
