Hey everyone,

My skoda fabia has come up with A few problems recently, I'd love if someone could help me out.

1. Front wipers. Occasionally while driving along, the wipers will come on once, without me touching the switch. Should I be worried about this? Is it an electrical fault? I can't find much online.

2. Reversing. When reversing one of my back wheels makes a high pitched squeak/hum. I'm not sure what this could be but it only happens when reversing. Any help would be appreciated.

3. Cigarette lighter. I'm looking to replace my centre console cigarettle lighter, I have taken it off before but I am not sure how to wire it correctly. If anyone knows any tutorials on wiring them that would be great.

It's an 02 plate skoda which I would love to fix these few problems for. Thanks in advance for any help.

1/ Sorry to teach you to suck eggs, but sure the stalk is not set to itntermittent and at the lowest setting ?

What about other positions on the stalk, do all the wiper functions work as required or show any signs of electrical failure to the stalk.

2/ Sticking drums/brakes. Quite a common fault. Clean them out or take them to be looked at. Might even just need a jot of copperslip maybe

3/ Haynes has a wiring diagram in every manual. Got to be worth buying one just for reference alone surely ?

mooing brakes are a very common fault and is heavily discussed on the forum there are many different solutions.... atm with the cold weather my fave is turn the radio up louder

as for the cig lighter contact jonathan in parts at rainworth skoda and ask for a wiring diagram for the cig lighter. I have contacted him on many occasions and have been emailed exploded diagrams for parts before 100% cannot fault him for helpfulness and usually are quite competitive on pricing.
