DSG issue ? found this report on Honest John in the Telegraph

On the whole nothing new in terms of hesitation. It is a well known fact on this forum. Having said that, it is no worse than the take up time from releasing the clutch in a manual car unless you are holding the car on the bite point.

The cutting out going around sharp bends/junctions is though not so good and is a little disconcerting even if the alternator/battery are starting to fail. I wonder how old the car is? I didn't notice from the article if it was mentioned.

The recall was for a shim to be placed between the Turbo and the housing/locating point on the engine, this if i recall correctly is something that was required for some 1.2 TSI units 12/18 months ago. Certainly wasn't required for our Monte which is coming up to its first birthday (just got the tax renewal).

EDIT: I'll retract that about our Monte and the turbo shim. Just booked it in for a service this morning to be told it needs the shim fitting as it wasn't picked up on the recall. 45 minute job on top of the first service

An interesting, though as yet unconfirmed, rumour for the Aussie brigade: an extension on "driveline" warranty to 5 years/150,000km. Whether it would extend to Skoda vehicles (it should) I'm not sure.

The shim on the turbo was not a huge issue and it only caused problems when you gave it a WOT thrashing if I remember correctly. The hesitation from the DSG on the 1.2 Fabia was greatly improved with a software upgrade around that time too. This stalling is probably unrelated despite the advice given in the article.
