Rear anti roll bar....further thoughts

Featured Replies

i'm a bit puzzled about the rear ARB, how does it make a difference if the rear wheels are connected anyway through a solid axel. Isn't and ARB designed for independent suspensions? can someone explain please?

  • Really useful information, thanks guys! I ended up going with the Whiteline BWR19Z. Easy to install, good value for money and what a difference to the handling, just point the car to where you want it

Whiteline certainly makes a difference (I have it on the middle setting). To my knowledge the Jabba bar does not fit the mk2 vRS unless you have a modified exhaust

Regardless of what might be said the rear ARB can change how the rear suspension feels as people who fit them might testify.

It might be an improvement, people certainly say it is.  Springs, dampers and tyres dependent though, and the ARB fitted.

Personally i preferred a Mk2 vRS hatch without rather than with, but i like roll in a car when driving spirited on real roads with cambers, potholes etc.

so the torsion bar has "some" movement apparently.

Reduces body roll apparently, Not sure about the hatch back but I own the estate/combi and the back end likes to go the opposite way. Lowering 40mm and adding the ARB seems to have tightened it up a little.
