When to order new Yeti to get the facelift

Featured Replies

My car is due for replacement in July this year.

I can order the new car three months before.

Question is, when will the facelift start being built and how long before could I order to guarantee I get one?

I've already decided its going to be a 140DSG and reckon that may have an influence.

I am interested in the facelift Yeti as well but from what I have read it won't be launched until December.

December launch with deliveries early 2013. However, until the face-lift model is officially launched, you will not be able to see the exact spec/extras available, as there is bound to be changes from the current line up. I am not too sure when dealers would stop taking orders for the current car, but my advise is to wait and place a firm order in December, then there will be no question.

Rumours flying around currently suggest the very end of this year before they land on forecourts. Would expect the Superb to get the next makeover, followed by the Yeti and the Fabia II to be replaced with a new design after that. Then there's the unknown in the pipeline to fit with Skoda's expansion/world motor supplier domination plans ;)

July therefore would be way to soon; an October order would be on the cards me thinks, as UK production is coming through a lot quicker currently. Our motor sector orders are healthier than Europe's at the moment, hence 800 people who are sadly loosing their employment with Honda.

Not sure that I want a facelift from what I'm seeing anyway; will reserve judgement mind until the new look in finally revealed. Would expect new engines/gearboxes and more advanced technology but will it get past SUK and how much extra will this add to the current cost. As we have seen from the Rapid, the finance guru's at Milton Keynes have seen rising sales as an opportunity to bring in ever rising RRP's. mind this appears to have backfired in the case of the Rapid; they got that bit too greedy for profit over common sense.

Staying with price, I'm certainly no longer in a position to consider a new Yeti, the cost now is getting beyond what I'm willing to pay out for a mode of transport; shame but next time around I'll probably have to consider a 2wd run of the mill motor without 4x4 :'( Oh yes a second hand Rapid might be on the cards in a couple of years time; probably have depreciated to below Fabia money by then

My advice would be to order now while the Yeti still looks nice :hi:

Given your expertise and knowledge on the Yeti we cannot afford to lose you from the fold. Perhaps SUK will finally recognise the value of this forum and offer generous discounts................

BTW can someone suggest a remedy for my headache.....perhaps its the banging on the wall? :wall::doh:

I reckon that Yeti facelift debut at Shanghai Motorshow in end of April ,that time you can decide wait for it or not.

Having seen the pics of the new Yeti, I think Skoda may be making a mistake ... all the character is being removed so that the front end looks more like a boring VW !!

I may well try and buy a new, old style Yeti when I change in December .... maybe a deal to be had?

Don't despair TP, my run of the mill 2WD Greenline is running around beautifully on it's winter Continentals. :hi:

I wasn't aware of any official new yeti pics available yet, thought it was all just dodgy photoshop mock ups.

Do you have a link to them?

Muck ups more likely.

Visited my local dealer yesterday who had recently come back from a factory 'educational' - they were shown an example of the new Yeti, which he described to me ... front will look like the Rapid, with fog lights below the bumper - on my way home stopped off at the newsagents and on the front cover of one of the car magazines ( sorry can't remember which one) was a pic exactly as he described.... The pic may have been a 'photoshopped' one, but it certainly was just as he said it looked. I'm just sorry they are going to make it look so mainstream, and dare I say it .... boring

Perhaps we could have a parallel thread - 'How late can I leave my order before the real Yeti is discontinued?'

The dealer we got our new Monte Carlo from said exactly the same thing when we collected her early in December; Rapid style front with low slung rectangular fogs. Due and I quote (ish); negative customer feedback about the look of Monster the round high mounted ones.

Should have bought something else if they didn't like the style  However I'm more inclined to believe the corporate image police have taken over the design studio, is probably the truth of it :wonder:

Apologies didn't intend to refer the 2wd Monster was run of the mill, comment was directed at Euro box salons; sadly like the Rapid, although I do like aspects of it.

Don't get me wrong, I love the unique look of the present monster but was thinking that if the facelift also appealed, I might be better to wait a bit till it's available to order.

If it's going to be December then it would be too long a wait and would make life difficult.

In that case, roll on April when I can place the order for one of the originals :)
